Furniture sale asylum shelter
To relieve the pressure on the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA), the Municipality of De Wolden is accommodating 16 status holders. We were allowed to furnish their homes.
The challenge
Two families, totaling 16 people, were to live in one large house. Here we had to deal with both common areas and private areas. Because of this separation, we had to duplicate a large part of the furnishings. We did that on the very short notice of about a week and at the lowest possible cost.
The solution
In consultation with our client, we made a proposal for the furniture. The furniture was purchased by the municipality. We carried out the following work at very short notice:
- Furniture proposal
- Furniture selection and purchasing
- Installation of furniture, decoration, equipment, kitchen supplies, etc.
Result
Initially the house was bare and cold but we placed all the basics for a comfortable stay: from decoration, home textiles and lighting, to appliances and kitchen supplies. The residents will move on to their own homes after about 6 months. Because they will then be allowed to take everything with them, they will have a full start to a dignified and self-reliant existence.
