Student housing Laan van Spartaan

To meet the constant demand for affordable student housing, work began in September 2016 for a unique 16-story modular building. The tallest modular project in the Netherlands was completed in just 14 months. The 361 self-contained micro apartments on Jan van Galenstraat were decorated by Home Inspirations.

 

The challenge

It is not often that 361 residential units have to be furnished at the same time. Thereby we had to deal with the height accent and the short period of time from assignment to completion.

 

The solution

Home Inspirations was selected by the developer as the project furnisher on which we performed the following:

  • Interior design/plan;
  • Furniture selection and purchasing;
  • Management, logistics, planning etc.;
  • Pre-assembly and temporary storage of furniture;
  • Storage, assembly and placement of furniture on project site;
  • Installation of ceiling lighting, linen and decoration;
  • Waste flows, facility care.

 

The execution

A few facts at a glance

  • In 4 weeks we unpacked, assembled and placed 3,250 pieces of furniture;
  • Home Inspirations furnished over 5,400 m² of living space;
  • There was 300m² of floor space filled with pre-assembled cabinets that were transported to Amsterdam in 5 large trucks;
  • Every day 20 people were working full-time on site in Amsterdam.

 

Result

On very short notice (in 4 weeks) we realized the above for all apartments. The result: 361 fully furnished apartments with a Retro and Vintage look and feel. The apartments are suitable for individuals or couples and perfectly suited for a co-living lifestyle.
